Woman receives payment in medical malpractice case

by Administrator 5. August 2009 02:15

Leslie Thorne was paid $1.8 million last week in a medical malpractice case against Dr. David Glick. The jury originally awarded Thorne a $4 million verdict, but the judgment was later reduced to $1.8 million because of Virginia medical damages caps.

Thorne alleged in court last June that Dr. Glick misdiagnosed her heart condition. After seeing two other doctors about her enlarged heart condition, Thorne went to Glick, who diagnosed her with having hepatitis and then gave her a prescription.

Later it was discovered that Thorne had a rare heart condition caused by childbirth and needed a heart transplant.

If you or anyone you know has received a misdiagnosis that has resulted in injury, contact the Washington failure to diagnose lawyers of Fuller & Fuller at 1-800-570-4878.

Airman undergoes surgery complications, loses both legs

by Administrator 3. August 2009 06:31

Airman 1st Class Colton Read underwent routine gallbladder surgery July 9. But because of surgery complications, the airman lost both legs and is still in critical condition.

During the surgery, surgeons nicked an aorta, which caused blood to leak. The surgeons fixed the nick, but the repair later leaked and excess blood flooded his legs. Since the first surgery, surgeons have performed 10 subsequent surgeries to remove dead tissues from his legs.

Airman Read's case is currenntly under investigation by the Travis Air Force Base. If you or a loved one has been a victim of medical malpractice, contact the Washington surgical error lawyers of Fuller & Fuller at 800-500-4878.
