Cosmetic Surgeon Faces Malpractice Suit For Work Performed on 15 year-old

by Administrator 30. December 2009 07:49

A cosmetic surgeon in Moses Lake, Washington is facing a medical malpractice suit for unprofessional conduct after performing breast-reduction surgery and liposuction on a 15 year-old girl. The surgeon is accused of making serious mistakes during the breast surgery and his decision to perform liposuction on a person of that age is also being questioned.

While several physicians have come to the aid of the surgeon, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported in 2005 that the cosmetic surgeon had been sued 10 times in the past and was forced to pay fines in 2001 and 2003 for errors made as a dental practitioner.

If you or someone you love has been injured by an error made by a medical professional, it is important to have an experienced Washington medical malpractice lawyer of Fuller & Fuller at 800-570-4878 today.

Does surgeon fatigue lead to medical malpractice

by Administrator 14. December 2009 05:41

According to a recent survey, surgeons who are fatigued or depressed are more likely to make surgical mistakes. The survey was conducted by researchers from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic.

These results suggest patients' safety is often compromised by hospitals that overwork their employees. This result may have implications for medical malpractice lawsuits. If an injured patient believes their injury was due to an overworked surgeon, then the injured patient may be able to claim fatigue as a reason for medical malpractice.

The legal consequences of anesthesia complications

by Administrator 30. November 2009 05:55

When patients undergo surgery, they may receive anesthesia. The anesthesia is meant to put the patient to sleep so that the patient does not feel pain during the surgery.

Applying and administering anesthesia properly requires both experience and expertise. Because of the sensitivity of this procedure, anesthesia complications can occur.

In some cases, the complications can lead to significant injuries for patients. When this occurs, these patients may be able to sue for personal damages. This is especially true if the anesthesiologist was negligent or reckless in administering the anesthesia.

If you or anyone you know has been a victim of anesthesia complications, contact the Washington anesthesia complication attorneys of Fuller & Fuller at 800-570-4878.

Spine surgery malpractice

by Administrator 23. November 2009 05:18

Many types of spine surgery require complicated and lengthy procedures. Dut to these complexities, the surgeries can be risky for patients.

One common risk is that surgery could lead to nerve damage. This damage can sometimes lead to paraplegia or quadraplegia.

While these serious lifetime injuries may be the result of the complicated procedure, these injuries can also occur if the surgical doctor is being negligent.

If you or anyone you know has been injured due to spinal surgery negligence, contact the Washington surgical error lawyers of Fuller & Fuller at 800-570-4878.

How do juries determine whether surgical malpractice occurred?

by Administrator 16. November 2009 07:13

During a surgical malpractice trial, juries make their decisions based on the evidence and testimony presented in the trial. The evidence will often include documents that contain details about the procedure.

The testimony will likely include the opinions of other doctors who were either present for the surgery or who can attest to the surgeons medical record. A lawyer arguing for the plaintiff will likely attempt to demonstrate how the evidence and testimony shows that the surgeon was negligent, while lawyers for the defense will probably show that the surgeon followed procedure.

How to determine if medical malpractice has occurred

by Administrator 28. September 2009 04:40

While most surgeons follow procedure and are diligent in their work, some lawyers are careless and reckless while performing surgeries. When surgeons are negligent in this way, the patient may sustain further injuries that could have been avoided if the surgeon practiced due care.

Determining medical malpractice, however, is not a simple task. It requires a review of the specific case, an analysis of the surgeon's history, and a study of many other elements.

If you believe you are a victim of medical malpractice and need help determining the extent of the negligence, contact the Washington medical malpractice lawyers of Fuller & Fuller at 800-570-4878.

by Administrator 3. August 2009 06:31

Airman 1st Class Colton Read underwent routine gallbladder surgery July 9. But because of surgery complications, the airman lost both legs and is still in critical condition.

During the surgery, surgeons nicked an aorta, which caused blood to leak. The surgeons fixed the nick, but the repair later leaked and excess blood flooded his legs. Since the first surgery, surgeons have performed 10 subsequent surgeries to remove dead tissues from his legs.

Airman Read's case is currenntly under investigation by the Travis Air Force Base. If you or a loved one has been a victim of medical malpractice, contact the Washington surgical error lawyers of Fuller & Fuller at 800-500-4878.
