In April, 2007, a Texas man went to the hospital complaining of stomach pains. He was diagnosed with pneumonia but did not get any better after a few days under care. He underwent an X-ray that showed two holes in his stomach.
Doctors began surgery to repair the holes, but found no such holes after opening the abdominal cavity. The doctors then failed to properly close the inscision. Now the man cannot lift more than 15 pounds and requires another surgery to repair the damage.
